Could not reliably determine the servers fully qualified domain name apache2

Sometimes when you reload Apache service you will get a warning message “could not reliably determine the servers fully qualified domain name apache2″. This is just a warning message and things won’t stop.

You can remove this annoying message to  just have to tell Apache that what is your server name.

vi /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf in centos or RHEL

ServerName localhost

you can get your hostname using hostname command run this in terminal

#hostname

loalserver.localdomain

and add this name in your config file.

ServerName localhost.localdomain

make sure this entry also exist in your host file

/etc/hosts

and add your IP and host name here

127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain (your hostname)

hit restart

/etc/init.d/httpd restart

You won’t get any warning message this time. 😀
